About
Hi! I’m Marta. I studied a 4-year Nursing Degree in Spain, where I was born and lived until we moved to the UK. We were looking for an exciting change, personal learning and job development opportunities. We definitely found that! I have been working as an NHS paediatric nurse pretty much since we arrived. I work part-time at the hospital so that I can see my two children growing and learning every day.
As a paediatric nurse I continuously look after many newborns, babies and toddlers. I’m passionate about my job. I love it. It’s very demanding to look after little ones and their families but it can be extremely rewarding.
I always wanted to be a mum but I didn’t know I would fall in love with the journey of motherhood. Not only the positive and happy moments but also what you learn from all those tricky, at-your-wits-end, tough stages. There’re so many ups and down as the little ones grow, but we keep learning about each other and evolving. The magic part is to continue growing together.
I enjoy sharing useful, up-to-date information for parents about babies and young children from my experience as a mum and children’s nurse. In my blog you will find posts about health, parenting and activities for kids. I strongly believe in this:
‘One generation full of deeply loving parents would change the brain of the next generation, and with that, the world.’

Our family is multilingual: we speak Spanish, Catalan and English at home. In 2020, I started creating bilingual children’s books for my little one and decided to publish them so many others could enjoy them too.
It’s super exciting to have my books translated to 7 languages and be able to help bilingual families all over the world. I continue creating new books for kids – I love the kid literature world and so do my little ones!
Aiming to spread education on health-related topics for kids, in 2021 I published ‘Nurse Bear Does First Aid‘. It’s an introduction to first aid skills for young kids. Because children can do so much! It’s important that they feel empowered and know they can help from an early age.
In 2022 I published ‘Little Panda and Her Super Heart‘, based on my experience as a cardiac nurse looking after children with congenital heart defects (CHD) and heart transplant. I’m hoping this special book will encourage children undergoing heart surgery to acknowledge their inner strengths and courage.
One of my favourite parts of being an author is creating my book characters with clay! I’ve loved arts and crafts since I was very little, and I’ve played and experimented with many different ones over the years. Clay is so cool! And the coolest thing is your children can have a go at making the characters with play dough or child-friendly clay too.
